G-NAF Attribution
Our address data is G-NAF Core, the open edition of the Geocoded National Address File, produced by Geoscape Australia from contributions by the Australian state and territory governments. Geoscape Australia licenses it under the Open G-NAF Core End User Licence Agreement (EULA), which is based on the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) licence.

If you display or redistribute address data obtained from this service, include the following attribution, with "Copyright and Disclaimer Notice" linked to Geoscape's notice and the licence name linked to the licence:

How we change the data
We do not serve G-NAF Core exactly as released. We reformat each address into the fields and single-line label our API returns, index it for search, keep addresses withdrawn from later releases so stored ids still resolve, and derive one place per suburb, state and postcode, with its centre, for the Location API.
Mail-use restriction
The G-NAF Core EULA carries one restriction beyond standard CC BY 4.0, and it applies to you as a user of this service:
You must not use address data from this service to generate an address, or compile addresses, for sending mail unless you have verified that each address can receive mail using a source other than G-NAF — for example, the addressee confirming it, a verified mailing database, or your own mailing records.
A customer picking or confirming their own address in your checkout or sign-up form is that verification, so storing it as their delivery or billing address is fine. Generating addresses, or building a list of them, to send mail to is not.
Coverage
Coverage is Australia only: every physical address in G-NAF Core across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT and the ACT, refreshed with each quarterly G-NAF release. We do not serve addresses for any other country.
